Philosophy

Masset Winery is a family winery specializing in rich red wines with a special emphasis on Syrah and Petit Sirah (and sometimes a blend of both!) In addition, we produce Italian varieties, Merlot, blended red wines including our everyday style wine, le Petit Rouge, and Reserve style blends such as Sandra Jean and les Vignes de Marcoux Red Wine. A crisp unoaked Viognier and late harvest wines are made in select vintages. --Truly a taste of the Yakima Valley.

Masset Winery came about as a way for Executive Chef Greg Masset and his artist wife Michaela to showcase the wonderful wines that the Yakima Valley is capable of producing. Greg makes the wines from grapes that he hand selects (from well established hillside vineyards) and Michaela is the artist of the label as well as tasting room director and head of QC. Masset Winery is truly a family effort. Besides his duties at the winery, Chef Greg spent 17 years as the head of the kitchen at the Yakima Country Club.

WINE MAKING

Besides his duties at the winery, Greg has spent a lifetime in restaurant kitchens including Birchfield Manor and the Yakima Country Club. You can imagine that the wines he makes are always directed towards drinking with dinner! Rich, full bodied and supple wines to complement your meal.

Surrounded by orchards on all four sides, the historic Angel Farmstead at Parker Heights is a beautiful place to enjoy a picnic, taste and purchase wines and chat with the owners of Masset Winery. You will find nectarine, pear, cherry and apple orchards a few steps from the tasting room- which is housed in the restored 1905 barn of the original farmstead.

We are highly regarded in the wine industry for producing excellent wines with exceptional aromas.  Our winery is located on gentle rolling slopes and receives warm sunlight during the day making it an ideal location for producing our award-wining wines.
